Is the PSAT different from the SAT?
Many people think that these tests are the same; common wisdom also says that scores from the PSAT will be the same as on the SAT.
However, many students find that they score differently on the different tests–and that makes sense, since these standardized tests differ in content, length, purpose, and when during your high school career you take them.
Basically, the PSAT is easier, shorter, is targeted toward sophomores, and is therefore intended to be taken before the SAT–but there are lots more distinctions between the tests.
